mount tamalpais. we will use that to talk about our 12 hour day planners chilly inland and 52 into san francisco. right around 64 to 66 at 12:00 and this afternoon enjoy the warm sunshine, mid-60s to low 70s and the evening is delightful add mid-50s to 60 so when you have to park away from the restaurant tonight in san francisco, it will be a nice walk. >> good! >> traffic on this friday morning, is it friday light? >> so far. i will miss the lights because it was the first thing i saw driving into san francisco when i moved here two years ago. >> already two years! >> the bay bridge toll plaza shows traffic is starting to get busy at cash paying lanes on the far left hand lane at walnut creek, moving along fine at eight minutes from highway 4 to the 24 junction we have one hiccup in dublin/pleasanton with more on that in a file minutes.

>> all lanes of highway 101 in san jose are open after they were shut down early this morning because of police activity and our reporter is near the scene. >> matt? >> traffic is moving well on southbound 101 in san jose. that means the morning commute will not be impacted from the police activity that took place early this morning. check out the video we shot on the freeway here you can see the officers walking on southbound 101 in between story road and tully road. they were looking for evidence using flashlights. this is now around midnight. we have some reports of what may have led the officers to do this we have not received information from the c.h.p. and they have yet to return any phone calls at this time. the only information put out by c.h.p. is no one was injured and southbound 101 was closed because of police activity. the road re-opened after 1:00 o'clock this morning. we will pass on new information when we get it.

as we have been talking it is time to say goodbye to an old friend this morning for a little while. this is a look at the lights on the bay bridge. the lights will go out in an hour and a half. the bridge needs maintenance and the structure has to come down. each night we have brought the lights into your home from our camera. we are the only station with that vantage point. we have a report from the bridge from amy hollyfield with the send off party. abreak in the seven for the killer of an oakland high school student. a "person of interest" is in custody in the murder of 14-year-old davon ellis. the police chief told the reporters yesterday afternoon but no one told the parents until we called the family for reaction. davon ellis was shot and skilled on saturday as he walked with two friends in fruit veil area -- in the fruitvale area

[ inaudible ] >> nothing has been right in my life not knowing who killed son. >> no one has been charged in the killing. >> oakland police say the streets are safer after yesterday's raid led to the arrest of 16 dangerous gang members. officers served warrants across the any a month long investigation called "operation cease-fire." those arrested are suspected of multiple crimes including murder, weapons possession and home invasion. the raids were designed to put an end to feuding define the 55th and 69th avenue village gang killing each other and innocent bystanders forker. suspects are expected to make the first court appearance next week. >> a man is under arrest after police say they found him sleeping in a van filled with nearly 250 pounds of marijuana. officers picked up richard van

horn at a golf course in hercules. the man was in a parked rental van. inside the van 11 garbage bags with packaged pot. the marijuana has a street value of more than $700,000. >> san francisco mayor lee has inviteed americans to his office to honor those who helped victims recover from the recent fires including this fire that break out january 28 in the mission district. a man died in the fire and 54 tenants lost their homes and businesses. communities across the city have stepped up to raise funds and donate goods to help those affected by the fire get back on their feet. >> it was terrifying sight for harrison ford who crash landed his plane on a golf course in santa monica. >> we have the latest from ronald reagan medical center. >> yes, an incredible 24 hours

for harrison ford who is recovering after thization crash land -- after this dangerous crash landing. he was breathing and conscious, first responders wheeled him from the wreck average of the plane. this was the may day message. >> engine failure. immediate return. >> authorities say the 72-year-old film star lost engine power and was attempting to return to santa monica airport but the plane could not make it. >> he clipped the top of a tree and rested on a golf course. >> a witness described the scene. >> he was able to speak. he expressed he was in pain which was no surprise. he had a significant head wound. >> plane he was mighting was built in the 1940s. he told barbara walters about his love of flying. >> i love the free democrat -- freedom of flight, the people

the people i meet in aviation and seeing the world from a airplane. i'm in love with flying. >> investigators are looking into the cause of the crash. overknit -- overnight a spokesman said he is expected to make a full recovery although he is bangs up. >> six people are recovering after they were hurt when a delta jetliner slid off the runway in new york. the plane was lifted and moved. investigators will check the damage to the jet after the crash landing. went wheels hit the runway passengers could feel the plane skidding. the delta plane from atlanta crashed through a fence and ended with the nose feet from the icy bay. 132 people escaped by sliding

francisco if you travel northbound along 101 at oyster point we have cones and a construction sign in the lanes south of san bruno. c.h.p. will have to do a traffic break and remove the debris. along 101 from san bruno we have delays with construction around 101 and 280 so always slow down for the cone zone and we are seeing delays pulling toward san francisco. around hospital curve at the skyway and lower deck of the bay bridge it is taking on delays at 13 minutes from the airport to 3rd street. >> bay area company that fortune magazine said is the best company to work for. the america's money report is next. >> the starbucks effect can benefit many bay area residents without even drinking coffee. >> a bad break for

covering los altos antioch petaluma and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. the federal government is investigating stanford university for the way it is investigating sexual assault chances and harvard and uc berkeley. a spokesman said the university is prohibited from commenting on what prompted the government to add it to the list but officials officials are confident they have not violated rules. federal law requires colleges to investigate student and employee

and the weekend affects you more than anyone and showers next week and el nino develops and a look at that in a second. a look from the exploritorium and high tree pollen is affecting a lot of folks and a couple of scars and around here at the station they have been sitting out for a couple of days they are lime green. mid-60s to federally 70 at the coast and 73 in santa cruz. 69 in san francisco. san rafael and san mateo at 70. everyone else is around 71 to 75 degrees. tonight is cool with upper 30s in napa and san ramon valley. low-to-mid 40s inland. tomorrow morning a lot people are walking to starbucks or walking the dog and dress for low-to-mid 40's. mid-to-upper 40s around bay shore and the coast and san francisco is low 50s. the high pressure dominating the forecast and keeping everything away from us so spring warmth will win today.

we have had warm weather along our beaches but not where we look for el nino. the yellow and orange the weak el nino but no significant impact on the drought. the seven-day forecast shows cooler weather is hitting the coast on saturday and sunday when the clouds dominate. you will stay in mid-60 chance of rain wednesday and thursday. >> here is a picture of san rafael and the drive along 101 with traffic moving down to 580 and moving along nicely. north of there we do have a new accident involving a motorcycle southbound 101. we do have two lanes blocked. the motorcyclist is injured but they are up and walking around.

traffic does not have one tail light. the bay bridge toll plaza usually shows traffic loading up and we have delays. however, we do not have metering lights turned on. speaking of lights a party is about to get underway in san francisco with a temporary farewell to the beloved bay lights display on the bay bridge, going dark for 11 months starting this morning. >> amy hollyfield is on the embarcadero. >> you think your "to do," list is long can you imagine taking down 25,000 l.e.d. lights? all of them have to go. caltrain needs to do maintenance on the cables and the lights need to be replaced. >> moisture, temperature chains and vibration have been hard on the lights. this is the last hour of the display with a party here this morning.

break break san jose police are saying it was a hooting investigation that shut down part of south bay 101 this morning. a c.h.p. vehicle stopped a car near tully road and shots were fired in the direction of two officers. one bullet hit the c.h.p. vehicle. the officers were not hurt. police have not identified the suspect. 101 was shut down but re-opened after 1:00 o'clock this morning. our reporter will have more in a report at the top of the hour. 26-year-old san francisco man is facing felony charges of animal cruel difficult --

cruelty when he starved a friend's doc to death. the puppy named penny was found dead stuffed in a shoebox with a plush toy and a folded towel in pacifica last january. the owner moved to china and left the dog in the care of a friend. tests confirmed cause was starvation. >> the fat content in the bone marrow which we tested normal is 59 percent and this dog has 1.5 percent. that shows gross neglect and horrible way to die. >> kun sun has pleaded not guilty and a preliminary hand set for march 24. >> february was a good month to look for a job. the labor accident released the jobs report showing employers added 295,000 jobs last in. that is 55,000 more jobs than
